World Cancer Day

What is World Cancer Day?

We actually asked ourselves this question........The World Cancer Day message is #iamiwill with the focus on committing to reducing the impact of cancer for yourself, the people you love, and your community; to speak up, stand up and take action against cancer.

At We Get It HQ we decided we needed to most definitely to speak up about the cancer crisis that we have witnessed within our cancer community as a result of the pandemic.

To stand up for our cancer community giving them a voice and platform as well as support and community.

The We Get It team leaped to take action in 2021 and launched our first campaign - #getitchecked – to shout loudly that the NHS is open and that, if there is anything worrying you about your health – if something doesn’t feel right, for you – GET IT CHECKED.

We know that people are apprehensive to visit their GP surgery during this time. But the NHS has taken precautions to create a COVID-secure environment, wherever possible. Taking the small step to speak to your doctor could save your life.

Don’t delay. Act today. Get it checked.

Our #getitchecked campaign

We have shared stories from our We Get It community members on how Covid has impacted their lives and treatment. Cancer campaigner Deborah James returned to We Get It, in a brilliant virtual event, ahead of World Cancer Day to talk about the cancer crisis brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, and to support We Get It’s #getitchecked campaign. We asked our cancer community members to collectively share a clear united message - COVID IS A KILLER. CANCER IS TOO. GET IT CHECKED.

World Cancer Day 4th February 2021

We believe that individuals, together can create change. Join us today, speak up, stand up and take action.

GET IT CHECKED!
